The Power of Intention

Updated: 5 days ago

Why work with intentions?

In Sound Meditation, we work with sound, vibration, and silence.

An intention helps you become present and receptive to whatever arises. Not to control or direct anything, but to create space for what wants to move.

An intention:

  • brings you into the here and now

  • opens you up to release and receive

  • makes your session personal and meaningful

  • allows sound to touch you more deeply

  • supports healing, without needing to ‘fix’ anything

How to choose an intention

An intention can be very simple. Just one word can be enough. Let your feeling speak, without overthinking. What do you need today? What would you like to feel more of, in your body, your breath, your life?

Examples of intention words:

Trust – Release – Presence – Stillness – Surrender – Healing – Softness – Lightness – Gratitude – Connection – Grounding – Strength – Breathe – Space – Self-care – Balance – Love – Peace – Calm – Flow – Resilience – Openness – Inner power – Awareness – Acceptance – Safety – Slowness – Remembering

Or use a short sentence as a gentle guide:

  • I give myself permission to relax

  • I let go of what no longer serves me

  • I receive with an open heart

  • everything is welcome

  • I am here. Now. In stillness

  • I trust my own rhythm

  • I don’t need to fix anything, I can simply be

 When to use an intention

  • at the start of a session – as a soft inner alignment

  • during the session, as a focus or anchor

  • after the session, to integrate what you’ve felt

  • in daily life, during moments of choice, emotion, or rest

Let your intention be gentle. Nothing to force. Everything to allow.

An intention helps you remember who you are, what lives inside of you, and that you are held, by sound, by silence, by yourself.
