Clear sounds, different reactions
For many people, the little bells are a delightful, sparkling sound, a playful, tingling beginning or ending to a session. But as with everything in SoundMeditation: everyone experiences it differently.
An unforgettable experience
I remember a session with four generations from one family:
an active grandmother, her daughter, granddaughter, and even the great-grandchildren. A beautiful, unique gathering. When I let the bells ring, I witnessed four completely different reactions:
the grandmother didn’t hear the high tones, she thought the session was over and started talking in the middle of it
the daughter and granddaughter found the sound delightful and deeply calming
the youngest children winced and covered their ears, the high frequencies hurt their sensitive hearing
We laughed about it afterward, but it also touched me. It reminded me again how deeply personal and sensitive sound perception can be. What sounds heavenly to one person can feel overwhelming to another. That’s why I always work with attunement and care.
What do the bells do?
they bring clarity and alertness
they mark transition moments (like beginning or ending)
they stimulate the nervous system in a gentle way
they subtly clear the energy field with high-frequency tones
I use them gently in my sessions, sometimes close to the head, sometimes from a distance. Sometimes not at all, when I sense that it might be too much for someone. It all depends on the moment, the person, the energy in the room.
Why I still cherish them
Because they are small, yet powerful. Because they can open something in just one second, a space, a memory, a feeling. Because they remind me of the purity of sound.
Not everyone has to find everything beautiful.
Everything is welcome.
That, too, is the power of SoundMeditation:
you are allowed to experience what is, without judgment, without expectation.
With open ears and an open heart.
