Rhythmic whispers of nature
Kenari nuts are small, light seeds from Indonesia, often strung together and used as a rhythmic percussion instrument. In my studio, they are even more special: they’re attached to a round panel that features the Flower of Life, my logo, my essence.
The Flower of Life stands for balance, harmony, and unity. In sound, in people, in animals, in nature. Combined with Kenari nuts, it becomes rhythm and vibration that connect us to the earth and to each other.
How they sound
The sound of Kenari nuts is soft, natural, soothing. Like a waterfall. Or leaves rustling in the wind. Nothing harsh, just pure, organic, flowing sound.
How I use them
I play them with gentle movements. Slow, repetitive. Often in combination with Koshi chimes or Smudge feathers. There are also feathers attached below, which I glide over the body together with the nuts. It feels like a whisper from nature, tender, relaxing, healing.
Why I love them
Because they don’t push. Because they show the power of softness. Because they carry a piece of Indonesia, a land deeply rooted in my ancestry. And because something magical happens when people close their eyes… and just listen.
