Shamanic drum

The primal power of rhythm

Some sounds gently touch you. Others shake you to your core. The shaman drum belongs to the latter. It’s not just an instrument, it’s a bridge to ancient memories. A rhythm that speaks directly to your body, your heart, and your soul.

My own Shaman drum

I made my drum myself. With love, care, and deep meaning. It has a diameter of 50 cm and is stretched with deer hide, a conscious choice. The deer symbolizes softness, alertness, instinct, and a deep connection to nature. That’s exactly what I feel when I play her: a combination of power and subtlety, of primal force and intuition.

Deer are more sensitive than they appear. They move with awareness. They listen. And they follow their path with quiet determination. By choosing deer hide, I wanted to create an instrument that carries that same energy: gentle yet penetrating, sensitive yet strong.

My Shaman drum is the instrument I feel the deepest connection with. Because I created her with my own hands. Because every step of the process was filled with intention. During the dedication ceremony, I consciously infused her with love. That was my wish: that she would give voice to love, to peace, to connection.

In the center, I added the peace symbol, a reminder of my desire to bring harmony. Inside are tiger’s eye stones for strength, protection, and clarity. Hanging from the drum are pheasant feathers (for spiritual growth and beauty) and guinea fowl feathers (for protection and the value 'family first'). In the handle, I placed a moonstone to enhance feminine power and intuition.

What does the Shaman drum do?

The deep, rhythmic tone of the drum:

  • regulates heart rate and brain waves

  • helps release suppressed emotions

  • stimulates inner strength and grounding

  • invokes connection to your roots and nature

Some say it feels like 'being called back to yourself'. Others describe it as a trance, a memory, a rediscovery of their inner voice.

Why I love this instrument

Because it’s raw. Real. And powerful.

Because it brings me back to what truly matters.

Because my own hands shaped her.

And because every beat reminds me:

You are here.

You are whole.

And your rhythm matters.
